“THE PRICE OF SUPREMACY

Imagining the creation, in France, of the most exceptional, and thus most expensive motorcycle in the world is a crazy challenge. Achieving it could be a miracle. Genuis and energy have made it a reality.”

“MASTERFUL WORK…

From an engineer, immersed in the world of automobiles at a young age, one day setting his mind to imagining a unique motorcycle. An exceptional machine. A work of art. Thrilling cylinders. Joyful cylinder heads. Because the heart must exult. A “haute couture” specification.”

L’EQUIPE No. 24623, TEXT BY ÉRIK BIELDERMAN

“A NEW TYPE OF ENGINE

Imagining a new type of engine has become a rare and difficult task, especially if considering an unprecedented architecture.”

“The flat-twin engine facing the road disappeared in the 1930s… Some 80 years later, Midual revived this engine architecture, but in a completely unique way: the longitudinal flat-twin received liquid cooling for the first time to counteract overheating problems, and it was tilted 25° forward. By doing so, Midual created a unique machine that also overcame the limitations of the German engine, namely its parasitic torque from the longitudinal crankshaft and the excessive weight of its lateral cylinders…”

“The incredible flexibility of the engine and the total absence of vibrations at low and medium revs are almost disconcerting. But don’t imagine the blandness of an electric motor, especially since this flexibility is accompanied by a powerful and completely unique sound, somewhere between the staccato song of an Italian twin and the dull purr of a German flatbike.”

Alan Cathcart, Moto Revue, No. 3986

“A METAL CATHEDRAL

The pinnacle of Midual’s expertise, this unique foundry piece, a pleasure to contemplate in itself, holds the entire machine together. Once deburred, ground and machined, the sculptural metal cathedral weighs no more than 25kg. Midual has no equivalent in current production, and the 1,450 parts composing it strive for nothing but authenticity and perfection.”

“…the Type 1 is intended to leave an eternal impression, like a timeless timepiece.”
